Jon has been active in real estate since 2013 and founded Lorenz Companies in 2017. What began with the acquisition of 2–4 unit properties in Columbus has since grown into a diversified real estate investment and development firm with a focus on multifamily and ground-up development.
Jon started his career in Chicago with Duff & Phelps’ Real Estate division, where he provided valuation services at both the property and portfolio level across multifamily, office, medical, retail, and industrial sectors. After relocating back to Columbus, he shifted his focus to building a portfolio of well-located multifamily assets and executing development projects throughout the Columbus MSA.
Jon graduated from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business with a B.S. in Business Administration and a specialization in Finance. While at Ohio State, he was awarded the Harley E. Rouda Sr. and Marlese N. Real Estate Scholarship, the Provost Scholarship, and was a member of the varsity football team.
Outside of real estate, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife, two young daughters, and their golden retriever, as well as traveling and playing golf.
Joey began his career in New York City, working in Multifamily Acquisitions for a private equity group, where he developed a strong foundation in underwriting and deal execution. In 2021, he returned to Columbus to focus on real estate investment and development, with a commitment to sourcing and executing opportunities across the multifamily and mixed-use sectors.
Prior to real estate, Joey worked in the Banking & Financial Services consulting group at Ernst & Young and later at Salesforce, where he advised enterprise financial institutions on technology solutions. His diverse background across finance, consulting, and acquisitions gives him a well-rounded perspective on evaluating opportunities and building lasting relationships with investors, lenders, and industry partners.
Joey earned his B.S. in Finance from Miami University’s Farmer School of Business, where he was elected Student Body President and played on the men’s club ice hockey team. Outside of work, Joey enjoys spending time with his wife, coaching and playing hockey, and exploring Columbus’s local coffee shops.
